A fake review on your Google Business Profile can lower your star rating, put off new customers and even affect where you appear in local search. The good news is that you do not have to accept it. If you want to remove fake Google review posts, Google has a reporting process for content that breaks its policies. This guide explains which reviews qualify, how to flag Google review content step by step, and what to do if the first report fails.
Google does not delete a review because it is negative. It removes reviews that violate its content policies. The most common categories are:
A review that is simply honest but unflattering will usually stay. In that case a calm public reply is the best response.
Many valid requests are rejected the first time. If Google keeps the review, you can send a follow-up with more evidence through the review removal request tool or Business Profile support. A well-prepared appeal explains exactly which policy the review breaks and why. Meanwhile, reply publicly and professionally so that future customers see how you handle feedback.
Preparing reports, tracking each one and following up takes time, especially if you have several reviews to deal with or the reviews are old. Our Google review removal service checks each review against Google’s policies, files the requests and follows up. We only take on reviews we are confident we can remove, and if we are unable to complete the removal you receive a full refund of that order. You can also read how to respond to a negative Google review while the process runs.
Not sure which of your reviews qualify? Request a free review audit or message us on WhatsApp. We will tell you honestly which reviews can be removed before you place an order.
There is no fixed timeline. Some reports are reviewed within a few days, others take weeks, and some need a follow-up. A report that names the exact policy broken, with clear evidence, is handled most smoothly.
Not usually. If a real customer describes a real experience, Google generally keeps the review even when it is harsh. Reviews that are fake, spam, off-topic, abusive or posted by someone with a conflict of interest are the ones that can be removed.
You can submit a follow-up with more detail, use Google’s review removal request tool in your Business Profile, or ask Google Business Profile support to look at the case again. Each attempt should add new information instead of repeating the first one.
Google does not tell the reviewer who reported their review. If the review is removed, it simply disappears from your profile.
